Moraine in the Morning

Let it be written that September 29th, 2017 was one of my favourite days. It was like waking up for a flight to Disney Land except the happiest place on earth to me was on a mountain top in one of the most beautiful places in Canada.

If you're going to go, I recommend giving yourself plenty of time to get there. Traffic starts to build up once you get closer to the lake and if you think you are the only one wanting to watch the sunrise in one of the most famous lakes in the rockies, think again. Parking fills up fast.

Moraine is stunning and everything I thought it would be, but one of my favourite parts was watching the sunrise over the mountains without the crowds of people taking photos beside me.

Everyone crowds around centre stage of moraine to capture the vibrate aqua water but I highly recommend taking a moment to watch the sunrise on the other side of the mountains. Words can't quite describe the feeling of it.

And just in time, we turned around for the main event. I'll let the pictures do most of the talking.

We wanted to hit Lake Louise next and beat the rush, so we jetted off while golden hour was still in full swing. Driving through windy roads at dawn is probably one of my favourite things to do with Chris, especially when there is no traffic to be had in front of us. Lets just say i'm glad my car sickness days are well behind me because at 10 I wouldn't last long with him behind the wheel.

While I was busy gawking at the leaves or something else along the way Chris noticed the fog and pulled to a stop. With a site like this, he had no excuse not to.

Fall officially marks my favourite time of year to visit the rockies.

More to come. xx
