Nothin' but Blue

I don't know about you, but I definitely suffer from a case of winter blues right around March. I know the official most depressing day of the year falls somewhere in January or February but for me, I am at my all time low when my birthday has past, and the ground is STILL brown.

Everywhere else in the world, March = SPRING, chalk full of blooming flowers, chirping birds, and streaming sunshine.

NOPE, not in Alberta. We have NONE of that, or at least not enough to make this girl happy. So, what better way to get away from the brown, than to travel to a city full of BLUE! And by blue, I mean rain!

To escape the brown, me, my mamma and my sister went on a wet  getaway to Vancity for some much needed girls time. We shopped, we drank, we ate and we laughed. It was a great escape from reality and all of the mushy brown stuff.

Some might say the weather was, not ideal, as it rained the whole time, but I am a RAIN LOVER. To me, rain brings a peace of mind, and a sense of adventure. I feel so inspired sitting in a cozy chair with the rain pattering away outside or wandering past adorable cafes with an umbrella above my head. My brain fills up and replenishes on a rainy day.

I didn't bring my camera for this trip, so these pics were all taken with my iPhone and most can be found on my Instagram, but here are some snippets of our rainy adventure. I am so sad it ended, and can't wait to return to my favourite rainy city.

Hope you have a chance to getaway before summer hits friends! I highly recommend it!
